Hi, you (and me, too, since I�m also writing for myself) ~

It�s come and gone.

Last Sunday (8/26) was the big day, the day that Marie (pronounced Mary, no matter what it looks like) and Garrick got married (legally, at least; I�m clear that they were already married in consciousness). You might possibly remember that their wedding was what originally prompted me to stay here in the Seattle area after Crystal Mountain instead of leaving for Santa Fe then.

I met Marie and Garrick just a week over 2 years before the wedding at Leap of Faith. We all took it together. Unless you�ve taken the Leap, you may not realize the significance of that statement. Marie was one of the people who especially made an impression on me. Here�s what I wrote about her then:

�Two of the rules of the program are to use an alias and to not tell people our jobs and that kind of information. So, I know Superman and Dakota and Speaks for Herself, all of whom showed me courage beyond anything I�ve ever seen before. I know their hearts. I know their Spirits. But I still don�t know what they do for work or what their religion is or their politics or, for the most part, their ages or any of those other things that the ego-mind uses so eagerly to compartmentalize people. At the end, as we were all saying goodbye, a young woman (one of the few whose age I know) of 20 � stud in her tongue, large tattoo on her lower back, heavy black make-up � came to me, hugged me long and warmly, and asked me to call her any time I want to talk. And I very well may. I�m totally in love with her. No, I don�t mean romantically or sexually. I�m in love with the Spirit I saw her to be.�

And that love for Marie has never wavered (nor, apparently, has hers for me, based on some of the things she said to me at the wedding). That brings tears to my eyes. Since that time 2 years ago, we all (Marie, Garrick, and me) have been on staff together for the Leap numerous times.

Sometime during that weekend of Leap of Faith I recall talking with Marie about her relationship with Garrick and about the possibility that they might get married one day. I told her that they seemed to me to belong together and that I hoped they would get married when it was time. Well, August 26, 2001, it was time.

Jeff performed the ceremony. Laurie sang. Most of the wedding party was Warrior Spirit people. Probably a third of the people attending were, too. And I was there. It felt like an appropriate fulfillment.
