Hi, everyone ~

People are beginning to ask about me again, so it must be time write another update.

I still have mixed reviews to report, and Im choosing to focus on the positive side of the issue.

Im feeling a lot better and am regaining my strength and endurance. Some combination of the medication Im taking, the herbs and supplements Ive been taking, the psychospiritual work Ive been doing, and the prayers, thoughts, and healing work others have been contributing has made a big difference. Im nearly ready to get out and start working again. Thats a huge thing, considering how awfully I felt a couple of months ago. (Just to give you an inkling of an idea, I felt ready to die on December 31.)

On the other hand, I took a blood test, and the results suggest that theres around a 20% chance that I have cancer. I wont tell you what my PSA was because I dont want to feed any negative or fearful thinking about it. Anyway, the doc told me to get a biopsy done. Unfortunately, I still dont have insurance or enough money to pay for it.

However, I prefer to put my energy into alternative healing approaches and the power of Spirit, so Im holding that as perfect the way it is. Fortunately, Ive found a Doctor of Oriental Medicine that people rave about and a couple of holistically-oriented M.D.s. Ill see them as soon as I have the money for it.

A number of people loaned and gave me money after my request at the end of December, and that allowed me to get medical treatment, buy medication, and survive. However it wasnt enough for me to also get the dental work I need to have done, so Im still waiting on that. The good news is that the infection resolved itself, so Im not in constant pain with it. The bad news is that I still have a crownless tooth thats vulnerable to reinfection. (I intuitively think that the infection in my tooth and my prostate problems are related, but the traditional docs just laugh at that.)

As I said, Im nearly ready to start working again, and Ive been preparing my resumes and other promotional materials. Ill be getting together with someone as soon as she gets back from her vacation to talk about possibilities, and Im researching other people to talk with who might be able to help with work opportunities. I see lots of possibilities here to do my real work, and Ill see what the petsitting and housesitting market is, too. I feel confident that Spirit didnt bring me here just to have me be sick and broke.

However, Ive reached the point of financial crisis again. I need to buy meds and supplements again, make doctor and hospital payments, and do usual things like pay my rent and phone and buy a little food. Im patiently waiting for a miracle for the money to show up.

So, there you have it. As I said, any help spiritually, psychologically, or energetically that you can offer will be more than appreciated. And if theres anyone else whod be willing to loan me some money until I can get working, Ill put you on the list of angels whove manifested in my life. Dont think it needs to be a lot. $10 or $5 or even $1 from a number of people would help. On the other hand, I wouldnt turn down a larger amount, either.

I hate asking, and I dont know what else to do. Ive just finally gotten to the point that I can stay upright for most of the day and dont have to sleep more than normal. Ill be working as soon as I can.

I know that somehow this is all perfect spiritually. Im also patiently waiting to see how this is all for the best.

Look for more information in another letter soon.

So, for now Ill finish by once again thanking everyone whos already helped me in any way. You can be assured that it will not only come back to you, but will also be passed along to others.

(I loved the idea of the movie Pay It Forward. I was disappointed with the movie itself, especially the ending, but I loved the premise.)

Namaste,
Michael

Hi, sports fans (or those of you who arent sports fans, but dont mind that I am) ~

The closing ceremonies have just ended, and the Winter Olympics are finished. As usual, I loved the whole show, from the opening ceremonies through a wide variety of events to the closing ceremonies. I watched every day, every evening. Sometimes I watched events twice (they showed them here during prime time and then repeated them after Jay Leno).

I was moved. I was inspired. I felt excitement. I felt sadness. I felt hopeful. Above all, I just keep feeling something powerful.

As far as Im concerned, they could have gone on for at least a couple more weeks.

Some of you know that athletic participation is an on-going inspiration and metaphor for me. It isnt the competition that matters; its just those people going out there and doing their best with dedication and enthusiasm that moves me. Some of the movies that have been most inspiring for me have been movies that focused on sports: Chariots of Fire, Rudy, Remember the Titans, one with Michael Douglas that wasnt very popular that was called, I think, Running, and many more. If I want to get myself pumped up, watching a bunch of those movies will do it for me.

Same thing with the Olympics. I watch the athletes participate, and I feel that part of myself that knows it can soar (or slide, as the case may be).

And at the same time, I recognize what it is in me that keeps me from being there, participating in the Olympics (speaking only partly metaphorically). Its my lack of self-discipline. And thats what I see in those athletes and in those movies that I admire: self-discipline grounded in commitment. They all do what it takes to get there. And, as far as Im concerned, thats the victory. Medal or not, theyre all winners. In Running Michael Douglas character didnt win a medal; his victory was just finishing a marathon. But, he overcame injury and everyone elses opinion and negative thinking, and he finished. He did what it takes. They do what it takes. Theres the message to me.

So, I want to tell you who my heroes were in this Olympics. They all had something in common other than participating and other than winning a medal (which they all did). See if you can identify what it is.

My heroes for the 2002 Winter Olympics were Simon Ammann (the Swiss ski jumper), Alisa Camplin (the Aussie ski aerialist), Derek Parra (the American speed skater), Tristan Gale (the American skeleton slider), Jimmy Shea (the American skeleton slider), Vonetta Flowers (the American bobsledder), and Sarah Hughes (the American figure skater).

Do you get it? Do you know what they all had in common? Ill tell you what I saw in common in them in one of my next few messages.

Im beyond grateful for the Olympics. They touch me very deeply, and they send me off, inspired, into my life.

Namaste,
Michael
