Attracted my first film roles

Some of you know about my passion for films and for acting; some of you don’t. However, for a variety of reasons, I’ve never attempted to act in them. A couple of months ago I began to work on attracting roles in movies (using the Law of Attraction). Here are the first results:

I'm in the process of filming my first roles in a film (“Into the West” produced by Stephen Spielberg for TNT). It’s a 6-part miniseries that will be shown in June and July. I'll be in episode 4 (and perhaps 5 and 6). So far I’ve played a railroad worker, a townsperson, and a drunk in a saloon. (Before now I didn’t know that background cast often play a variety of roles.) Beginning Monday, I'll be playing a railroad dignitary. The director (Michael Watkins) told me that there will be a close-up of me in one scene. The extras casting director told me that if they can change my appearance, they can keep me working. She wants to cut my beard to a goatee for the railroad dignitary role. So far I don’t have any speaking parts, and I'm working on attracting that, too.

The only actor I’ve worked with so far who I'm familiar with is Lance Henricksen (Frank Black in “Millennium”, Bishop in “Aliens”, and Wally Schirra in “The Right Stuff”). There are quite a few well-known actors in the series, though (Tom Berenger, Josh Brolin, Gary Busey, Beau Bridges, Jessica Capshaw, Keri Russell, Sean Astin, Rachel Leigh Cook, Graham Greene, Matthew Modine, Wes Studi, etc.).

If you watch TNT, you’ll see that they’re already promoting “Into the West.” It’s the story of white folks moving into the west over a period of about 100 years told from the points of view of one white family and one Native American family.

Today I went to a casting call for another movie that’s being directed by Niki Caro (director and screenwriter of “Whale Rider”, one of my favorite films) and that will star Charlize Theron, Sissy Spacek, Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, and Sean Bean. It will be shot in this area in March and April. The member of the casting team that I talked to knows me from “Into the West” and said that I had the look for this one, too. So, it looks like I'll be in that film, too. It’s the fictionalized story of the first major successful sexual harassment suit. She wrote me down for being in the courtroom during the trial.

I’ve had a long-time desire to be in movies. New Mexico is becoming a significant center of filmmaking, and I'm eager to be part of it. I’ve already created my first acting resume and am preparing to seek an agent. Let’s see how quickly I'm successful at attracting speaking roles.

Warmly,
